More Than Just Paint—A Story of Resilience & Passion

I’m Amber Johnson, the woman behind A Girl & Her Brush Interiors. My journey wasn’t a straight path—it was built through resilience, hard work, and an unshakable belief that women can succeed anywhere, including in male-dominated trades.

In 2017, I left everything behind in Florida, arriving in Georgia with just a suitcase and a dream. Over the years, life tested me in ways I never expected—especially when my son was born in 2022. When his daycare refused to care for him after suggesting he may be autistic, I was forced to step away from work. At the same time, my wife was deployed overseas with the Air Force.

It was one of the hardest times in my life.

With doors closing around me, I picked up a paintbrush—not just to create, but to cope, to build, and to reclaim my power. What started as a personal outlet quickly turned into a passion, and that passion became a thriving business rooted in design, excellence, and empowerment.

Today, I’m not just here to paint walls—I’m here to help homeowners reimagine their spaces through intentional design, curated color, and flawless craftsmanship.
